Category: Tomahawk

The SPD Edition of Wenger Blades' Wiglaf. A superlative, modern belt hawk. Compact, capable, versatile, excellently designed and individually custom handmade by Dave Wenger for PDW. This belt hawk is named after the heroic character Wiglaf who is a key figure in the classic epic poem Beowulf. This belt hawk like its namesake is most notably characterized by capability and courage against great odds. This belt hawk is a highly capable, modern wilderness tool. Even with its compact size, it is big enough in functional stature to handle bigger jobs in the back country and round camp. Special design details include a bearing block divots on both side of the blade head, extra 550 paracord wrap which can be unwound and used for bushcraft needs, a micarta handle with our signature orange liner, pry tip handle end, hammer poll, and deep cut out behind the beard to choke up when this hawk is used for skinning. The SPD Edition Wiglaf is nicely finished with a custom Sagewood Gear edge cover and belt hanger.

"The Wiglaf tomahawk is in a class of its own. There is no other woodsman's tool on the market that is as capable and packs as much of a punch as it can. Combined with some skill, there is hardly a task it cannot accomplish. It's the tool you want with you when the proverbial dookie hits the fan in an emergency or just when you're out camping with friends."

Scarlett A. ★★★★★

The hand-forged feel is unmistakable the moment you pick it up, and the compact belt hawk profile makes it disappear on a waistline while still feeling solid in a grip. I've already used it for a weekend of camp chores and the edge held up better than any factory axe I've owned. If Dave's individual

Balanced perfectly for a belt carry—the weight distribution makes it disappear until you need it, and the hand-fitted handle feels like it was shaped for my grip. This is the kind of tool you forget you're wearing, then remember why you bought it the second you put it to work.

Nicholas L. ★★★★★

The head sits so compact and secure against the handle that it barely prints under a light jacket, yet it chops through 2x4s like butter. Carried it on a week-long camping trip and it handled everything from splitting kindling to light prying without a wobble. Exactly what a modern belt hawk should
